Year 8’s Busy week

Year 8 had a fun packed week, kicking off with a particularly busy Tuesday! It all kicked off with the incredibly inspiring talk by John Willis – https://www.power2inspire.org.uk/about-us/the-team/Willis who was born without his arms and legs and has been able to achieve a lot more than most able-bodied people do in their lifetimes!

A number of year 8s then took part in the UKMT maths challenge (they should receive their results in about a month).

No rest for the wicked. The whole cohort was then bussed off down to Stratford down in London and treated to a rather spectacular theatre performance of Noughts and Crosses (that bomb scene!!).

The students displayed exemplary behaviour and a rather tired but inspired group returned to school later that evening.

Year 8 have been looking at music inspired by art, taking inspiration from Hokusai and Van Gogh. Follow this link to find out more  – https://sanctonwoodcreative.wordpress.com/2019/05/01/music-inspired-by-art/
