Sancton Wood’s juniors love tennis. We had a real difficulty selecting two teams of four, as so many of our pupils wanted to play.

The B team first. Harry played some intelligent tennis winning all, but one of his matches. Not to be out done David who is in year 3 won all but one of his matches, serving superbly and winning all of his backhand shots. Nancy drew two of hers and contributed many points to our final score. Lastly Zoe in year three won most of her matches winning some amazing rallies. They came third out of six teams.

The A Team’s results were fantastic in the heats, Arthur Paris and Adesola never lost a match. Arthur was the best player at the whole tournament. Adesola’s opponents just couldn’t compete with his athleticism. Paris was just awesome. Maya the fourth member of the team continued to improve throughout the tournament winning a number of games. The A team came first in their draw and were through to the semi final. Unfortunately we lost to Abbey Meadows in a rather rushed and chaotic semi final.

All our pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day and gained valuable tournament experience.
