The House System

Every pupil and staff member at Sancton Wood is assigned a house when they join the school. The House system creates competition, promotes good work and behaviour, encourages teamwork, provides opportunities to take on responsibilities and brings everyone in the school together.

Our Houses are:

Pupils are awarded House points for academic, extra-curricular and pastoral activities in daily school life.  These House points build towards the House Cup and a House treat which is awarded at the end of each year.

The House board shows the house symbols and lists the pupils in each house.

Each term there are quizzes, competitions and sports activities at which House teams compete against each other to earn house points. These activities run in conjunction with different departments in the school enabling pupils to demonstrate their skills in various areas such as  Sports, Music, Debating and Literature.

There are House Bonding Days where the whole school join together in House activities, these are also known as Buddy Days.
