Sancton Wood has been ranked 7th place nationally in this year’s Sunday Times’ Parent Power List in the top fee-paying schools with small or no sixth forms – our highest ranking ever.
Parent Power Guide is in it’s 29th year and focuses on Britain’s highest achieving primary and secondary schools in the state and independent sectors. The times analyses more than 1,600 schools and is put together using the results of the 2019,2018 and 2017 to reflect the performance of schools prior to the pandemic.
Our curriculum is designed to ensure that throughout the senior school years, subjects offer a well-defined programme of study that encourages our students to build upon their skills and look to their future. We offer a wide range of GCSEs which allow students to develop their own interests, taking the first step in shaping their own education. Our young people are free to explore their interests in a more creative way, helping them to develop into confident, resilient learners.
We develop young people that are knowledgeable, caring and successful with bright, enquiring minds. We work hard to maintain small, class sizes in order that students and teachers can foster strong relationships. We are recognised for our excellent pastoral care and get to know the students as individuals, understand when they need help and the best approach to take to engage with and support them. We want our students to have a positive approach to life, to broaden their horizons, and to value the opportunity to think and study independently.
This impressive achievement as a mixed ability school, is one we are extremely proud of and reinforces our belief that a happy child is a learning child.
