Sancton Wood Book Week finished with a big bang this afternoon with the Book Fair. The books from all of the inspitrational visiting authors and illustrators, as well as the huge and varied selection of books from Heffers, have been on display at the Book Cafe. All week, the children have been madly sticking post it’s on all of the books that they would like to buy. There has definitely been a bit of wishful thinking going on (my children included!) with some children sticking post it’s on as many as twenty books! Today they got to buy them as the lovely Claire and Caroline set up shop in our school hall.
This afternoon’s Book Fair was a real joy to see with lots of parents, staff and children all chatting books and enjoying the refreshments together. Lots and lots of children went away with new books to fire their imaginations and keep them busy over the weekend. I hope that you all really enjoyed the fair and that the children love their new books.
The Book Fair was kindly supported by an army of ‘cake ladies’ from SWPA who did a sterling job keeping us fed and watered while we browsed and shopped. What better way to spend a Friday afternoon: tea; cake; a new book to devour. Bliss.
