The Pre-Prep school aims to challenge each pupil to reach his or her full potential. The caring and stimulating teaching environment provides a setting in which children are encouraged to develop the skills, knowledge and attitude necessary to attain a high standard – to be the best they can be. Parents are encouraged to liaise closely with the class teachers, so that the children have a feeling of calm stability and security. Our educational programme of teaching practice promotes equality of access and opportunity for all children to learn and progress. Small classes ensure a close and productive relationship with the class teacher.
Our Pre-Prep children enjoy a broad and well balanced curriculum that includes English, Maths, Science, History, Geography and RE. Specialist teaching is a real feature of Sancton Wood’s provision for young children.
In Reception Year 1 and Year 2: Music, Art, PE and ICT are taught by specialist teachers. Spanish is taught to all classes from Nursery onwards. and Instrumental tuition is available on request.
The personal development of all the children is outstanding; they are extremely happy and they feel safe and secure in this nurturing environment. All of the children are extremely well supported in their learning and development and they are well prepared for the next stage of education.
