Life at Sancton Wood, Cambridge
Sancton Wood aims to make an outstanding contribution to the social, emotional and academic development of each child. The school has a reputation for instilling good manners, reliability and self-discipline into every child that comes through it’s doors in Cambridge.
We have small class sizes across the school and this excellent pupil: teacher ratio is a key to the educational philosophy that focuses on the provision of a tailored educational programme for each pupil. The staff chosen to work at the school are all highly qualified and committed teachers, who endeavor to make each pupil aware of his or her innate qualities and skills, and to develop these to full capacity. The school is also known for its excellent academic results.
This is reflected in our regular position at the top of the league tables for GCSEs for Cambridgeshire and our 100% GCSE pass rate. We were ranked 71st in The Times Top 100 Schools in 2009 and the ISA placed us 8th in the country. This success was bettered in 2010, with students leaving us with a record number of GCSE passes. ISA placed up top in the country for points per pupil. In 2011 we featured in the Sunday Times ‘Parent Power’ list of top independent schools.
